About Us

Peterborough is one of three cities in the UK to be designated as a Sustainable Travel Demonstration Town , so this is our chance to take the lead and demonstrate how changes in behaviour can keep our city moving and growing. This is a five year project, funded by the Department for Transport. The project, entitled Travelchoice, aims to create a city where real choice exists, with the ultimate goal of providing opportunities for people to change to more sustainable forms of travel. One of the ways in which we hope to achieve this goal is through promoting car sharing.

The Peterborough car share scheme has been set up to make it as easy as possible for you to find a potential match for your journey. It is completely FREE to use and has been designed for both drivers and passengers and can be used to find a match for one-off trips or regular journeys. The site has recently been extended and now offers the chance for you to search for a walking, cycling or taxi buddy too. 

The success of this scheme relies on people logging onto the site and registering journeys; so please do so and encourage others to do the same. It stands to reason that the greater the number of people using the site, the greater the chances of finding a match!
